I lost my little girl.
A dark day in my life. My Bean, my little girl, went in for exploratory surgery because she had quit eating. She passed away at 3:30 today. The Vet found inoperable cancer. It was bad. I had to tell the Vet. to not let her wake up.
Bean quit eating week before last except for treats and snacks I could trick her into. Took her to the Vet three days in a row. He checked everything he could three times. He told me several times he had no idea what was wrong and didn't know what to do without being able to see inside. He referred us to Upstate Veterinary Specialists which is supposed to be one of the best in the US. They did x-rays, wasn't sure, did ultrasound, wasn't sure. When they did exploratory surgery they found a mass of aggressive cancer that could not be removed. The Vet asked if I wanted to bring her through recovery and take her home. Knowing she would never eat again, and the pain of the surgery, not wanting her to starve to death in pain I told him to not let her wake up. Now I'm the one in pain. I know it will pass in time. I have probably spent $8,000 on this dog since she was born in medical cost. Is it wrong to love a pet so much?
