new crash bars
or should I say new to me.
My cousin bought a box of Harley parts at an auction and there was a set of HD crash bars. they are a little scuffed on the bottom. Looks like a low speed drop. we put them up to my bike and looked like we could make them work with minimal modifications. so here they are.
First I cut my spacers on my foot controls to allow for the crash bars
then we had to cut off the mounting the top of the mounting tab and slotted the bars to get the angle we needed to get a bolt through and into the radiator mount.
since we ended up with such a big hole in the top I am going to drill a small hole in the bottom to allow water to drain. They are very sturdy. I may end up painting them to stop rust, but first I am going to try and clean them up and put a little clear coat on the scuffs.
All in all I think they turned out pretty good for FREE.

I also have a set of the three piece p clamps and foot pegs to go on the bars, that I picked up while on my vacation.

Nice! Free is my favorite price. I think everything should be free.

Re: new crash bars
It looks like I'm going to have to get a set of the longhorn offset to reach the new pegs. So if anyone has a free set, I know where you can send them.

Looks great! Congrats. You might fill in with JB Weld and 'rattle can' some chrome on it.
