First long ride of 2011
Off to Knoxville, Tn. in the morning. Return home on Thursday. Not a planned trip, but I'm glad the weather is nice so I could ride up.
My uncle passed away last night after a brief bout with cancer.
Prayers for a safe trip would be appreciated.

Re: First long ride of 2011
Good morning brothers and sisters. Had a good ride up yesterday and the weather is great today.
The burial is this morning and the church will provide lunch.
The service was real nice last night with lots of friends and relatives attending.
This is my 3rd funeral in the past six weeks. My best friend, former step-daughter, and now my uncle. I guess the older you get the more this is going to happen.
Thanks for all the well wishes and condolences .
Ride safe my friends.

Gary
Glad you made it there safely. There's a cool Holiday Inn (or some big chain) there that has a elevator that rises up out of the building for the last 2 floors. It makes for a thrilling ride at night if heights are challenging (scary).

Re: First long ride of 2011
Made it home safely. I made it to Sweetwater, tn. on the interstate and stopped for fuel. As I pulled out the was a big sign showing the way to the Cherahola Skyway. Well, I couldn't stand it. Off I go. Got to Tellico Plains and started up the Skyway and decided to visit Bald River Falls beings I had never gone that way. It was beautiful.
Turned around and headed home because I knew by now it would be dark before I got there. Rode in the dark about an hour and a half but enjoyed my littls detour.
Thanks for all the prayers as everyone made it to their destinations without trouble.
Packed for home.
Bald River Falls
Reliance ,Tn. store that I think was in the Deliverance movie.
Old grist mill stones.

Re: First long ride of 2011
One more time. Just found out my second cousin died at the breakfast table. Visitation in Tennessee tomorrow night.
Another unplanned road trip.
I'm ready for a break from funerals. Prayers needed again.
