When it rains....

As some of will remember , I buried my best friend in life before Christmas.
Well just got more bad news yesterday. Another funeral. This time it is my ex-wifes daughter Nikki. She was my step-daughter for 8 years from age 5-13 during our marriage. She died Tuesday morning in an auto accident in Raliegh, Nc. She was 32 with a young daughter herself. She will be buried in Dyersburg, Tn. Saturday. Going to try to go up and return to Alabama before the snow storm moves in.
It saddens my heart that we had recently reconnected via Facebook and I had been talking to her and her brother. I wish I had attempted to stay in touch with them more, but life happens like that sometimes.
Just say a little prayer for Nikki and her family if you don't mind. If there is someone in your life that you have lost touch with for whatever reason, please consider trying to get in touch with them so you don't have regrets later. I have learned that time heals alot of wounds in life.

I am always a day late and dollar short , Gary it really does suck that you guys lost contact but it happens , at least you were able to reconnect after so many years had past . Same thing happened to me and Amy we lost contact over the years and had finally found each other about a year before she was murdered , I pray for her and her family and of course my fellow brother ! God has his ways of bring people back in to our lives , if ya'll need anything let us know ! Luv ya !!!

Thanks Christie and all for your prayers. Yesterday was Nikki's birthday and it brought back alot of memories for me. I talked with her mom and she said Nikki's daughter hadn't realized it was her birthday yet. I feel so bad for her daughter Lauren ,to have to grow up without her mom.
