My Dad's surgery
My Dad finally went and had his hip replacement surgery today. Everything went perfectly and I was able to talk to him about three hours after it was done. He sounded really good. I know he will be hurting a bit more tomorrow but they say he will be going home Saturday morning. I had made a deal with him that I would start college when he got his surgery well, today was my first day of college too. funny how that worked out. I just wanted you all to know and to add him to the prayer list for a speedy recovery and rehabilitation.

Re: My Dad's surgery
I talked to my Dad today and he sounded much better. They had him out of bed and walking around this morning. He said "to put it in Navy terms....it fookin hurts" He is in good spirits and will be going home Sun or Mon. Thanks for all the well wishes. I passed them along to him and he really appreciated it. Thanks again.

Re: My Dad's surgery
Well, my Dad wanted to go home yesterday (he hates hospitals) The doc did not think he was ready but told him if he could walk to the end of the halway and back and go up and down three stairs he could go. He got out of bed and did it all! He is at home relaxing in his bed. They have a two story house and he got upstairs by himself using his crutches. He says it still hurts a bit but nothing like it did before the operation. He has tylenol 3 if needed but he has been taking regular tylenol only since he got home.

It's amazing what a staying in hospital can do to motivate a person to get the heck outta one. Great to hear.
