Need some help haveners
Ok brothers and sisters I am in need of some help. This coming weekend my wife and I are making the 1000+ mile drive (in the car) back home to NH. My father passed away this past december and his wishes were to have his ashes spread over the nearby mountain (Monadnock) and placed in the river that was behind the family home. My fathers birthday is July 1st and that is when we will be doing this for him.
Now some history. We are of finnish descent, What I thought would be fitting would be to send his ashes down the river in a Viking Ship. I am searching for an oragami viking ship. I will make it if I can find the plans online.
I could really use some help if anyone has some extra time to try and point me in the right direction to finding these plans.
Thank you in advance
Eric

Re: Need some help haveners
If Actionpack can part with one of his tall ships I'll kick some cash his way and I'll pay the shipping and you can send your Dad off in style.
Please don't take offense - This is a sincere offer.
Found this one but don't know how you would load it:
http://www.langorigami.com/art/gallery/gallery.php4?name=viking_ship
I googled "origami ship" and found these links:
http://search.earthlink.net/search?q=Origami+Ship&area=earthlink-ws&channel=nonregistered&abtcgid=87&abtli=1
I know these are not specifically Viking ships but if you can make a double ended hull with square sails you should be able to decorate it in the proper fashion.

Re: Need some help haveners
you are all truely awesome and I dont know how to put into words how your offers of help make me feel. Im awed. I was looking at something origami so it would sink after a bit.. something bio-degradable that no one would want to pluck from the river..
I love that red one.. and I think I could make something to sit in it.. now I need to find the folding directions.
Again thank you all so much.

Sorry Eric - I thought the directions were included.
Never fear, I have asked my Dad the internet search Guru to join the hunt. I'll let you know what he comes up with.

Re: Need some help haveners
ok this is what I have done so far..
Its pretty crude but I think it will work. Im going to put on one side "Carry on my wayward son" he was a HUGE kansas fan and not sure what on the other side yet. Im also thinking I will make 4 - 5 of them since there will be a few of us (I have 3 brothers) and we can all launch one.
