Get her running then come on down and take me for a ride.
I use to have a 1941 Pontiac Businessmans coup but had to let it go when I was in the AF. It had a flathead straight 8.

Re: Gettin' Close
I was close to dropping in an old 327, but I figure she lasted almost 80 years ... I just can't cut her up. It won't be totally original but as close as I can make it.

I agree. But I would have tried for a 250. Love the old L6 engines.

I have a Fenton dual carb intake that will run a pair of Rochester 2 barrel carbs ... should have enough power.
I also have a split exhaust manifolds for a set of dual exhausts.

She fired this afternoon ... no pipes yet. Started right up .... my old boss is making me a set of duals ... should sound good if I am remembering the sound of a split manifold.

Re: Gettin' Close
Tommy I figure that if I went with a 327 that the old drum brakes would not stop her ... she is pretty heavy. I didn't want to sink too much money yet.
Yeah Billy .... it sure did make my day ... till we found a coolant leak. I think Mike found it so we are back on track to get her home this weekend.

Re: Gettin' Close
thanks AP ...
Need opinions .. I could run the split manifold and through a straight through glass pack ... or put a muffler that will not be as loud. I am leaning to the "not so loud" side ... I don't think the car looks like it should be too loud. What do you guys think????

Re: Gettin' Close
Go with the muffler. Glass packs just don't seem right on that car. You can always change them later.
