Crazy (a little long)
My grand sons father came over to talk with me last night. A very bright, 25 year old young man. He talked for about three hours. Upset and mad.
Fri. night my grandson started talking crazy. About voices in his head telling him to do bad things and to kill himself. This child is only 6 years old. He has said things like this before but we just wrote it off as a child's imagination talking. This time it was different. More intense. Sitting in bed he asked his father for a knife so he could kill himself because the voices told him to. Also talking about clowns coming in the window to hurt him. His father is studying to be a paramedic so he is no dummy. He called 911 so the child could be observed on the way to the way to hosp. by someone else.
Once the child was at the hosp. the father was not allowed to see him. Was told he had no rights as a parent. The Dr. had all authority to do what ever was needed. The child was sent to a medical university over 200 miles away. The father cannot see his son or contact him in any way. My grandson was in a good home and taken very good care of. There was no child abuse of any kind. The child needs help but he also needs to be able to see those that he trust and knows that loves him. This whole thing is so crazy. I am so mad and want to do something but feel my hands are tied. I want some names. Someone is going to pay for this down the road a ways. I know the father is feeling it a lot more than me. He has a lawyer and they are thinking malpractice.
I left out a lot of little details. This is a very large hospital, medical university. It appears there was a change in hospital procedures about a year ago. Some people were given a little authority and they let it go to their heads.

Damn Trip ... I would call my local state representative ... if there is no help I would go to the media. Sounds like a Fox News story to me.

WOW! I'm stunned. I think that I'd be in jail if they tried to separate me from my daughter like that. It's this kind of crap that makes freedom loving people leery of "the system". Please keep us up on this.

Re: Crazy (a little long)
Not yet. I may check tomorrow. I don't want to bother David, the father to much. I know he is doing everything he can. I offered to drive him to Charleston, 200 miles, if needed. Let you know as soon as I hear something.Simpleman77 wrote:Any update, Trip?

Re: Crazy (a little long)
Found out today my grandson is back home and doing fine. He was at MUSC in Charleston for most of a week. I haven't talked with David yet so I don't have any details. I'm so thankful he is back where he belongs. Thanks for all your prayers.
