Took an Incredible Ride Today
The kind of ride that I get in once a year. The weather was absolutely perfect. The high was only about 76, which made for a nice long-sleeve riding day. Very very light traffic and counted about four motorcycles, including one Sheriff Deputy, which I got a wave back from, on the 145 mile ride. The pics below are kinda large but show a truly fun one on one day with my bike. The Beast ran perfect and I have a much clearer head this evening.
The long road toward Kenansville and Yehaw Junction
5 Miles west of Yehaw Junction
Well...self explanatory. About 15 miles west of Yehaw on Route 60
Unsecured load of Grapefruit. Love dodging those on the highway
Destination ... Cherry Pocket restaurant and fish camp. Nice quiet place in Polk County.
Lake Pierce at the mouth of Cherry Pocket
Ironic, dontcha think?
How do you spell "Relaxation"?
Heading home after an incredible ride

Thanks for the good pic's. If I'm not mistaken my dad lived on Lake Pierce when he was a child, or his aunt live there and he stayed with her for a while.
Jess and I may be in your neighborhood around Thanksgiving. You going to be home?

No, Len, that would have been the one finger salute, and he didn't do that.

Looks like a great ride. I love riding thru FL, especially the orange groves. They smell so wonderful. Of course it seems like at 2 p.m. you better find shelter or some frogg toggs.

I was waiting for someone to pick that up (so to speak). I didn't get a picture of it, but the outside bar is a replica of a boat, and I was sitting at the bow end. It's not the most comfortable surface to set a drink down but it's pretty cool.

Mark, it was one of the best rides I've taken in the two and a half years that I've been riding. I seriously cleared out the cobwebs and just enjoyed the pure fun of riding. No hurry, no heavy traffic to worry about, not a bunch of other bikes on the road, and picture perfect riding weather. 145 miles of biking enjoyment.
Looks like y'all are having weather like ours for the rest of the week. Enjoy before the cold sets in for the year. Here's to hoping you get 100 miles in today.

Actually, my friend, if you look at the left side of the pic, there's a statue of Len's likeness.
Really, it's just that River Ranch is kind of an icon in Central Florida.

i only got one question, ain't there any hills around there? looks like riding around flat would get boring after a while.
