my new view
I'm downsizing. All the kids are grown and Sharon is not working so she can go back to school ( Nuclear medicine ) So we are getting a place right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's about 2 miles from BRP half way between Boone and Blowing Rock. I have always wanted to live in the mountains.....so we are making the move. Here is a picture of the view from my front poarch. This place is a lot smaller than the place we have but also a lot cheaper. I'm giving up the pool but gettin a hell of a view and the fact that I live on the BRP makes it a lot easier. Things have gotten pretty tough financially with Sharon goin back to school so this feels like the right move to position us for the future. My job is very uncertain, rumors are startin to fly about my job goin to China soon. If that happens I cant replace the salary I make now so I will have to go back to school also. So we are lettin our dreamhome go for the future. kinda sad but kind of exciting also. I mean hey....i will be living on the best cycle road in America......just ask Dydeorange

Re: my new view
If it feels right, and it sounds like y'all are giving it serious thought and planning, then cool. Just make sure ya got enough room for the occasional Havener to stop over for a night or two.

Sounds great Tracy. I'll be somewhere in the Chattanooga area come December. Looks like we will be sharing some wind in the future.

Congratulations Tracy and Sharon. That sounds like the best move you could make. Post more pics when you can.

Re: my new view
WOWZER! What a view. I wish you the very best in the transition. Talk about "suffering for Jesus" on the BRP. I could get used to that pretty fast. We tried to move to NC a few yrs ago. There was an opening in New Bern for a music pastor, but it was just not meant to be.

Re: my new view
Man, I wish I could have got up that way this weekend. Went to Mo's and got in some good riding. Cold weather made for a late start and limited our range for the day.
You got room for a tent in the yard with a view?

Looks like a dream home view to me. As long as I had a roof over my head I wouldn't care about the house with a view like that. Congrats on the move, I bet it'll feel good to down size when a job is uncertain.

Screw the house, this Marine don't need nothing but a knife for food and a thread and needle for stitches.
