I guess I've been called out....
I guess I've been called out by one of my brothers here. You know who you are, thank you.
I do consider all of you my brothers and sisters. I guess I just never got around to being an active participant in that Brotherhood. For that I owe all of you an apology.
I've been working for the past five years at a job that I truly enjoy. I finally work for a boss that is appreciative, and knows how to treat his employee's fairly. Before this job I went to work only to support my family, not because I truly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, a couple months ago I was called into his office to hear that we are shutting out doors. My dream job is over. My boss left for a job in Florida about a month ago to support his family, leaving me and a couple of other guys to finish things up and close the doors. As of Friday I will be the only one left until they kick me out. I have been looking and interviewing for various jobs, but so far no luck. My biggest fear is losing my VTX. While I don't put on the kind of miles that some of you do, it is how I "make it all go away", and I need/want that. But it will go before anyone goes hungry for even 1 day. Whatever job I find will, I hope, enable me to keep her.
Some day I hope to meet all of you who have been a part of my life for the past year or more.
Well, thats it for now. Thanks for listening.

Re: I guess I've been called out....
For the past 4 years I've been a production supervisor, doing whatever it takes to get the jobs done to keep our customers happy. Before that I was a slitter operator/material handler. There aren't too many forklifts out there I can't drive, or material I haven't slit. From .001" thick paper, to .400" thick cold rolled steel.

Dan, I know this might sound weird coming from me but your post count does not make who you are on this site. You participate here and that makes you a part of this brotherhood period. I hope you are able to find work soon. Take a look at http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/ for Government jobs in your area (or any other area you like). I'll be praying for you too.

Re: I guess I've been called out....
If it was just up to me, I would move in a heart beat. However it isn't just me, so a major move might be out of the question. I suppose I'll have to wait and see what happens in the next couple weeks.
If I don't get a job before we close our doors permanently, I am going to take some welding and drafting classes. Welding is something I have always wanted to learn, and reading blueprints could be a big part of any welding job I might get.
Thanks for all the support and prayers.
