Went on a ride with my son
I finally was able to go on a ride with the American Legion Riders yesterday. I took my 12 year old son James with me. We rode to a little hole in the wall place called McKittrick, California. The town has a population of about 200 so there isn't much there except the "Penny Bar" and cafe. It's the kind of place you would see on the show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. There are over one million pennies covering everything in this place. The walls, floor, doors, bar, the TV, The pool table.....and so on. It was a pretty good time. We ended up putting 185 miles in total. The ride home was not as nice as we had a pretty wicked head wind and it was all I could do just to stay in my lane. I was exhausted by the time we got home. I think James had a good time as well. As soon as we got home he was calling his friends and telling them about the trip. Here's a couple pics.

Lookin good there Chief ! And man how James has grown since last summer, glad you two had a blast. I see gas is about 40¢ more out there. I been savin my 'pennies' for gas money for the loop again. Looks like it could be around the same time again or there abouts. Jen is due end of August. Another boy!!!
Glad you guys had fun...

And that was a cheap place! If you do pass by here, be sure to stop in and say hey.

Ditto on all the above. I've always enjoyed riding with my kids. four left at home, but two of them are 15 and 17. They're on the 'runway'. Enjoy those rides.
